šŸ»šŸReal Ale Festival ~ Week 6 socialšŸšŸ»

Posted 3y 3mth ago by Beth Hudson

Warwick Real Ale Festival returns (at last) on Thursday 17th February to fill the Copper Rooms once again with a huge variety of beers, ales, ciders and more!! The Festival also has many vegan, gluten-free, and 0% alcohol options.

We will be meeting in the Duck from 5pm and then heading into the festival from about 6:30pm.

For those who have never been before, the Festival is a cash only event and has a £3.50 entry fee, once you're in you can buy tokens from Reception (these are essentially monopoly money). Inside the copper rooms there are a variety of bars (not the usual Pop bars, they build their own) at which you can exchange tokens for drinks or food (vegan and vegetarian food is available). You can also buy merchandise (novelty pint glasses, silly hats, etc.) from the reception with cash. I highly recommend purchasing a pint glass!! There will also be live music every night.

As for pricing, it is cheaper than the Duck!

Please press 'going' on the event if you plan on joining us (especially as we will all get a discount if we go as a group 🤩) and we hope to see many of you lot there! https://fb.me/e/1a4MgUPbe

For Scotland and Surf we bulk buy different Lilley's Cider flavours so I strongly recommend trying a few flavours at the festival to learn what you like ~ Bee Sting is a personal favourite šŸšŸ

Social love,
Beth and Adi x

Ā
Morning all, just letting you all know that we have re-opened signups until the 12th as we wanted to make sure everyone who wanted to come can sign up, although we can't necessarily guarantee everyone a place, we'll do our best to bring as many people as possible.
We're also now planning on staying in an AirBnB, so we will no longer be camping🄳🄳. This likely will increase the cost of the trip by around £30 depending on numbers, but it should be much more fun, not to mention a lot warmer.

Scotland Hypemas Day 6

Evening paddlers,

The final reason to come on this trip is that you will get to use the same boat for the entire trip! This will give you the chance to work on your paddling skills and no more having to adjust the fitting each morning.

Scotland Hypemas Day 5

Good evening paddlers (attempts to do a Scottish accent),

The fifth reason to come on this trip is the river Etive. This is one of the best rivers and lots of boaters want to paddle this. We will hopefully get to paddle this amazing 2.5km of drops and waterfalls. This river will be one to remember.

If you haven’t had enough, here is another video for you: https://youtu.be/nRGy5p_d88M

Scotland Hypemas Day 4

Hi paddlers,

The next reason for coming on the trip is another off-the-water reason.Ā

We will be staying in two different bunkhouses across the 10 days. The best bit is that they actually have beds! We will first go to Glenbeg Bunkhouse and then stay at our favourite Great Glen Hostel.Ā

This year we will also be driving in cars, which means you may get to influence the music your driver plays!

Howdy paddlers,

The second reason for coming to Scotland is the chance to get your very own Scotland 2022 t-shirt! These have been created just for you based on the super-secret theme.

There is also the chance to be creative each day as one or more lucky people will get the chance to strawbridge a fellow member. If you are not sure what strawbridges are, have a look below for some inspiration!

Scotland Hypemas Day 2

Evening paddlers,

The second reason to come to Scotland is the social night. Whilst each night is Social, one night, in particular, will be a designated social night.

Did someone say social night!! Just what you will want after another day of paddling.Ā

It is a (semi-)memorable night, with new club stories being created. Social night takes place one night in the second bunkhouse where the club's own-brand eliminator will take you to a whole new dimension. Costumes are mandatory (given the high level of pop costumes over the past year, expectations are high). The tour theme shall be revealed after sign-ups.Ā

Scotland Hypemas Day 1

Hypemas Alert!!

Merry Hypemas, may the festivities begin!Ā

The best reason for coming on this trip are the rivers, where you will get the chance to paddle for 8 days! These rivers will give you a chance to improve your paddling skills while having a great time.Ā

Last time the club paddled the Findhorn, Spean, Garry, and Etive, and will be looking at paddling these again as well as some new sections!
