Dear all, 

The University have announced proposals to cut funding to the
Department of Physical Education and Sport by 15%. We believe these cuts are
disproportionate and too severe and at the very least there needs to be consultation
with Warwick Sport members. If the cuts faced by the Department are this
significant, it may well see Warwick Sport members having to pay an extra 60% (20)
for access to sport, potentially impacting Warwick Sport membership. 

 We have
therefore launched the Support Our Sports campaign. And we need everyone who agrees
with this campaign to get involved and support our sports at Warwick.

Hey Guys,

Thought I would just remind you that the epic party is still happening tomorrow (Thursday 24th June) at Leamington Rugby Club. The postcode is CV32 6RG if you are driving, if you are catching the bus take a look at the location and there is a bus stop close by for the U1. (Ask the bus driver).

We will have a marquee, a bouncy castle, a BBQ dinner, music and also plenty of alcohol and soft drinks. There isn't flooring in the marquee so it will be grass underfoot, just to let you know if you plan on wearing fancy shoes.

If you are one of the few who I haven't spoken to and haven't paid, please bring the money on the night. No money = no entry, its not fair on everyone else who has paid.

Plan to arrive for 7:30pm to start and then I have no idea what time it will finish. I'll get some taxi numbers and have them to hand at the end of the evening so people can get back. The event is black tie so dress up smartly. :)

For those of you that don't know the university are planning on drastically decreasing funding for sports. This is likely to be passed on to us in the form of a £20 rise in Warwick Sport fees next year.

Hi guys,

Thanks to the mighty organisational skills of the Nene, everything has been moved to week 10, Wednesday 24th June. It will be the same time, so I imagine that we will be leaving about 12ish and returning around 7.

Please signup, the trip is likely to be very cheap as the University is paying for the course hire. It's a gerat laugh and will be the last opportunity for many of you to play on whitewater before next year, so get involved. If you can no longer make this date, can you please remove your signup.

Epic Party tickets will be on sale after canoe polo tonight, so please bring £25 pounds to pay for yours tonight, they will be on sale at various canoe events this week, and next week, remember there is a limited numbers so buy them fast!

Seeing as the weather is so good right now, and everyone is/will be ecstatically happy at some point in the next few weeks, Muffmuff & I have decided to hold another bbq!

Undoubtedly bigger & better than the last

When: Saturday 13^th June (End of week 8) in the afternoon
Where: Rootes Field

There will be a small fee to cover costs of food ÔÇô this along with times will be released next week.

Games will include

CROQUET!

And the usual: ROUNDERS (with the added possibility of an inter-club degree-related tournament, i.e. Physics vs. Maths vs. Engineers vs. Everybody else.)

Howdy boys and girls,

The holidays are drawing close, and end of term looms. What's that I hear you cry? You want some more whitewater excitement before you finish the year? Fear not. We are organising a trip to the Nene artificial whitewater centre in Northampton on Wednesday 17th June (that's week 9 to those stuck on bubble time).

The Nene course is great for all abilities, whether you're waiting to do your first whitewater roll, or want to perfect surfing waves or give cartwheeling a try. We will have a number of coaches there help you improve on whatever you want. Or, if you just want to muck about on the course, you can do that as well. The world is your oyster.

As usual, sign up through the trips link on the website. Price is going to be below a tenner, as the University is paying for the course hire. How nice of them. We'll be leaving around 12ish to return for around 7, but times will be confirmed nearer the date.
