Leam Trip

Hi everyone

Hope you've all had a brilliant freshers week, and if you are a fresher have enjoyed your first sessions with us.

We're going to be running a trip to the river leam on sunday 12th October, this will be primarily for freshers to the club or those who did not go on a trip last year. It'll be a good chance to get some practice on a real, though slow moving river, there will be several coaches and we'll be teaching you some useful skills  for future trips, and ready to answer questions.

We'll be meeting at a still to be confirmed time (probably around 9) at the bus stop near the union, and then getting a bus into leamington. Bring with you swimming shorts, clothes and SHOES  to get wet,  dry clothes, towel and either lunch or money to buy lunch in leamington, we'll provide you with everything else. It will take as long as you guys want it to take and we'll probably go to the pub after.

Sign up is NOW OPEN, to sign up look on the left at the canoe section, click on trips and then select the trip you want (in this case leam trip) then sign up.

Any questions email me or post on the forum at www.warwickcanoe.co.uk, your name and password is the same as your warwick sport one.

Hope to see loads of new faces there

TOP B!!

Ok folks we thought we would take advantage of the lack of work at the beginning of term and venture out to Top B after the pool session on monday,

There is a sports club only Top B being held in Tempo the new Night club on campus, so we shouldnt have to worry about those pesky Top B queues! And still only a £1 a pint! Be great to see as many of you there as possible!

Leam Training

Calling all drivers/people stupid enough to volunteer to carry boats a long way. The plan this year is to run weekly training sessions on the mighty leam for those of us wanting to be considered for the warwick teams. Attendance will not mean that you are guarenteed a place on the teams, but it will help you play a lot better, not to mention gain experience at playing outdoors (quite a shock for the first time!). So to this end, I will need drivers to volunteer to ferry boats and kit from the sports centre to leamington. Their petrol will be paid for by the people attending that week (and possibly a contribution from the club depending on Ms Smith's generosity!). Cheers guys.

Kit score, be the one

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The final score is upon us, and I feel it should be graced with the mighty canoe club. It's kit score, so will be guaranteed to be awesome. Can't think of a better place than the union to show off your rash vest and post surf trip sun burn!

Should be enough people wanting to go, but post on the website if you fancy attending this gathering. Will probably be meeting around 6 for predrinking on the piazza.

Last Supper

Good Afternoon

Seeing as it is the last week of term, it would be wrong not to have a final, farewell social.

The plan: BBQ, beer, rounders and other forms of merriment.

Where: Rootes field (same as last time)

When: Friday 1200hrs onwards

Who: Everyone (attendance is manditory)

Details: Arrange your own bbq groups (ie who you share with) and we will arrange the rounders. An above average turn-out is required if the rounders game is to be appropriately epic, so be there

See you Friday
