Right to Play Naked Calendar

Posted 15y 11mth ago by Some Old Git

Ok everyone. The photographer is available for our pool session on Monday. If it is probable that you may attend (and get naked (at least partially)), please can you sign up in the trips section (here) to save on forum-confusion. This is just for a rough idea of how many will turn up so I know whether to accept this day.

Also, if you are a little squeamish, I'd advise averting your gaze in a ladylike/gentlemanly manner at the start of the session. Never fear - there will be an e-mail confirmation as to whether your lovely pool session will actually be complemented with nakedness nearer the time.

PS everyone get down to the gym sharpish - 5 days left before we have to show swimming and waterpolo who's boss...

...

For those who missed it:
Warwicksport have taken it upon themselves to raise money for the following charity, in an interesting way...
Right To Play is a humanitarian organization using sport and play programs to encourage the healthy physical, social and emotional development of the worldÔÇÖs most disadvantaged children. Right To Play is committed to improving the lives of these children and to strengthening their communities by translating the best values of sport into opportunities to promote development, health and peace. More details of Right To Play can be found on the following website http://www.righttoplay.org.uk/.
...
In order continue to raise money through Warwick Sport for this fantastic Charity, Warwick Sport is going to be producing a "Naked Sports Calendar" for the next academic year.
In order to produce such a calendar we will need the support of the Sports Teams to "get their kit off" (in a tasteful way with strategically placed equipment) and help us raise as much money as possible.
Nudity anyone?

Lilac hoodies

Right a few of you might have heard about the feasco with the lilac hoodies, well it's been 7wks and Run and Jump havnt chased me up about returning them, and im fed up with them cluttering up my room, so i think its fair for me to distribute them to the lucky owners. Wow two purple hoodies for the price of one I hear you cry, yes thats right! I bet the rest of you are all wishing they went purple!

Ok so,

Xain, Katherine, Nigel, and Rachel, you are the lucky owners of a lovely lilac hoodie whooo!

I have them at my house in leamington, you can claim it from here if you want, or i can bring them to a canoe/canoe polo session.

If for some reason you dont want a lilac hoodie, then let me know as scavingers who didnt buy hoodies have expressed interest in them. And will gladly wear them. P.s the hoodies are the same shade as this news post... great!

Score Week 3

Ok Lords, Ladies and Gentilmen, the plan is as follows;

Where: Cholo, When: Wed wk 3, 1900hrs (happy hr 7-8pm), Who: Everyone, tis going to be side splittingly good. Fancy Dress is STAR WARS themed, so get your lightsabres polished and your Princess Laya bikinis dry cleaned. You've got a whole week so there are no excuses for lack of fancy dress. If you can think of nothing else stick hair to your face and roar in a distant manner. We also need volunteers to be auctioned. Don't be shy, it's for charity!

happy costume making.

Tournament Next Week

Posted 15y 11mth ago by Some Old Git
Posted by: Cloughy

As exams draw ever nearer I find myself in constant need of distractions, and the latest one to arrive will be in the form of a 'friendly' polo tournament next week (Tuesday 6th May). The teams will be drawn from people within the club so its just warwick verses warwick for the ultimate in bragging rights! If you want to be involved in the tourament, can you post on the forum BEFORE next week, so that we can have the teams and playlist sorted prior to tuesday - these teams will be mixed before anyone starts quaking in fear about taking on a full A team. If you do not post saying that you will definately be there then you will be given lowest prority for games.

Misc Kit

Hi guys. Did a big equipment/kit check today with Iain and just thought I'd send out an email as some stuff is missing and one or two items are not club and may be yours!

Missing:
Yak car rack straps (four sets of)
Club thermos
Yak deck
Blue BA
Wetsuits, one purple and one red
Dry cag (was borrowed for scotland?)

Nobody is in trouble or anything, we just want to know whereabouts everything is.

Also there are a pair of (rather crushed) wetsuit boots on the balcony and a digital watch that was still attched to a BA, which I think is Steve's.

Thanks again,

Rob (manof)

My last social email ever, prepare yourselfs for someone who can actually spell
As you may hav noticed due to the lycra bound images of Hunter that bear upon you like a graham Norton inspired version of 1984, Sports fed is upon us.
What this equates to is the best four days of your life. FACT
It starts with the Sports fed ball on the saturday night where the club gets to dress nicely and get drunk en masse. This is followed by a hungover journey to wales on the sunday and the MIGHTY SURF TRIP! 3 days of sun surf and BBQ's
Because its a popular event can all those going buy their tickets sharpish before they all sell out and then we can start sorting seating arrangements.
cheers all

Summer Tour!!!

Posted 16y 0mth ago by Some Old Git

Right Guys,

I think we have all just about recovered from our last tour, so time to start planning the next, whooo! We are going to the scenic Ardeche region in France for a week of Sun, BBQs, and of course a spot of paddling. This trip will probably be more a holiday than hardcore river running trip, though we will still get in lots of rivers! Anyone can come, the rivers we will be running will be grade 2/3, 3 with maybe a few 3/4 thrown in. We will try our hand at some multi-day expeditions and other exciting things.

At the moment a rough estimation for the trip will be about £150 pounds, food and drink will be pretty cheap out there and we will be camping, so this leaves a lot more of your student pennies for drinking!

We are planning on running this trip in around the 2nd week of the holiday, possibly leaving on the 6th of July and getting back on the 14th. Though it has been pointed out that some graduations will be happening then, so we will do our best to sort this out. If you want to come or are interested please email me at madison.mcdonald 'at' warwick.ac.uk and please let me know if you have a pesky graduation ceremony which clashes!

There will be limited spaces on this trip and there will be a sign up coming soon to a website near you (www.warwickcanoe.co.uk)

See you soon and good luck with all your exams!

SOCIAL side of things

Im probably not officially social sec anymore due to a certain lady from essex and a certain man from the South West but I thought Id send an email out to keep people in the mix. First half of this term is a little slow on the social side of things due to exams and the like but post canoe/polo pub drinks should keep the liver ticking along nicely. Second half of term, on the other hand, has many delights to fill the vacuum left by exams! There will be a BBQ at some point with, fingers crossed, less nudity than previous occasions and there is the massive Sports Fed ball/Surf trip combo. Four days to put hair on any man/womens chest! There are even rumours of Ralph famous for his light house manoeuvre attending, tent space anyone?
cheers all and good luck with exams and the likes
