Ever been on a kayak trip and wanted that little boost of Dutch courage to do the next waterfall, wanted to relax, sit back and celebrate that meaty rapid you just ran perfectly with a swift swig of the hard stuffor just look swanky with a limited edition Warwick Canoe hip flask? Well nows your chance!

For the first time ever, we are offering you the opportunity to buy a Warwick Canoe 6oz Hip Flask for the VERY cheap price of £12.50 (and you get a choice of colours!)- they are usually £15- £20 + in shops.

The hip flasks will have a leather case which will be embossed with the Warwick Canoe logo. The choice of colours for the leather case is navy, green, tan, brown or black.

If you want one, the deadline for payment is FRIDAY WEEK 4. I will have an order form at the canoe and canoe polo sessions on week 3 and week 4 if you want to sign up and pay up (cheques to UWSU as usual).

Parts of the polo goals are being re-altered.

One goal is currently mid-way through repair and probably wont be completed before tuesday - its NOT dangerous and shouldn't be any more likely to break than before (which it never did anyway) - but please BE CAREFUL when handling it. You WILL NOT get cut or anything, but there are "lumps in unusual places" ;-) around the bottom corners.

The other goal has not been started yet and is fine to use as normal. Hopefully it will be done during next week.

There is a Polo Tournament being held in Stratford on Avon tomorrow.

Warwick entered one team - you will already know if you are playing in that team.

However another team has now pulled out and the organisers (Birmingham Uni CC) are looking for extra players from which to build a "scratch" team.

Meeting at 3pm, Sports centre, returning tomorrow evening. Cost will be £4 (four), transport included.

Dear all,

Following the success of last weekend's Outdoor Activities First Aid course, there is talk of an Advanced Outdoor Activities First Aid Course being organised. The weekend's course which just ran IS A PREREQUISITE.

While only a handful of people were able to go at the weekend just gone, I am sending this email to everyone because I don't know exactly who else would be eligible (ie people who did it before last weekend). If you have done it before, you will be eligable provided it was within the last 3 years.

However, the cost this time would not be free - the subsidised cost would be £115 [one hundred and fifteen] (a saving of £30) [thirty] providing all 12 places are filled.

Dates are not mentioned yet, but if you are interested and eligible [and have (or can beg, steal or borrow!) the money], please let me know so I can pass a list on to Gemma Morris.

Hi guys!

Sign uo for the week 3 trip is going up tomorrow (wednesday) at 12 noon.

The trip is aimed at beginners / intermediates and there may be opportunities to pass your 2*, so if you are intrerested make sure you sign up ASAP.

To summarise the details of the trip:

When = 26th-28th January (week 3), leaving friday evening and returning sunday evening

Where = Breacon Beacons in Wales

Cost =  We're staying in a bunkhouse but there will be limited spaces for camping so cost will be approx £20-£30 depending on whether or not you stay in the bunkhouse. I will sort these out once the sign-ups have been confirmed, but it will probably be first come first choice.

Hey guys 'n gals,

The time has come for a moment in our lives that many thought would never come, can you remmeber the tears, the raw emotions, the nervous brake downs? I am of course refering to the end of those talented indivuals: BEWITCHED. They are back and better and Union security is braced for thousands of students to ram down the doors, so buy your ticket now! Beacause warwick canoe are going to be right there at the front!

So once u have your ticket, start preparing your banner to show how much we have missed them!  Then once poster is complete come join us in rootes social building from 8 onwards in our usual corner this Wednesday.

Hope everyone had a relaxing holiday and brought in the New Year with as much style as Ali "bin-liner thong" Barnett!

To repeat what our good Miss President said previously:

We've got a lot lined up for you, running 3/4 weekend trips next term (likely to the weekends of weeks 3,5,7 and 9) including more rivers, slalom and surfing, so make sure you keep an eye on your emails and on the website to find out about sign up for these. We'll also be offering those of you who want it opportunities to pass your 2* and start training people up on 3*. Hopefully we'll also be running some more day trips for people to practice their skills.

All of this will build up to the much anticipated Easter tour to Scotland, (dates to be announced soon) which is simply unmissable and a definite highlight of the year.

Off the water we've also got loads of plans, from ice skating, pub golf, and the canoe clubs very own barn dance social, plus loads more. So there's something for everyone to get involved with next term.

Pool sessions are as usual- 8.30- 9.30pm on Monday and Thursday (practising skills) 3-4pm. Even if you've not been before beginners are always welcome so feel free to come along and give it a try.
