Score Week 9

Posted 13y 10mth ago by Some Old Git
Posted by: Cloughy
By popular request there will be a group of us at score this Wednesday - circling on the piazza from 8.

The theme is your subject - so if you are an engineer, come as a bridge, if  you do english come as a book, if you do philosophy, come as an idea.

SCORE!!!

I, among others, finish my exams next week and really fancy celebrating.

so I propose a night out at score (pop for you newbys) on wednesday (16th). It will also be the tango party that the uni won for getting naked so it should be a wicked night. The theme will be children's television characters, so dig out those dusty videos and work out your costume. Circling starts at 7, if you aren't seated with a beverage and in costume by 7:30 you will be punished. You have been warned!

see you all on Wednesday

National League Squad

It's that time of year again when we need to register to play in the national leagues; more precisely Open Div 4 Central. We were the only team last year to beat the winners, and we can be those winners next year! The tournaments are spread out throughout the year and will cost you around £10 to go to. Anyone that's played this year can play, but we have to choose a squad of 10 players. We will give priority to those who can play at BUCS and those who were on the squad last year. There are plenty of spaces though, so if you want to play, post below!

Who is interested in getting a helmet for polo?

I am getting a helmet and Jenna said quite a few people had asked her about helmets...So....

Jenna has given me the price for the AP 6000 - £29.75 which is the same as Madi's helmet.

http://www.palmequipmenteurope.com/gear/info_CH060.html

There are 3 sizes:

XS/S 51-54cm

M/L 55-57cm

XL/XXL 59-62cm

It also comes in several colours.

Faceguards will need to be bought separately from Dave Brown, but if lots of people get them we may be able to get a discount and postage will be cheaper.

Summer BBQ

Posted 13y 11mth ago by Some Old Git
Posted by: Einstein

Have you been looking outside longing for the sun? have you been stuck indoors wishing you could be outside with your friends? have you missed the taste of hot, black meat on your tongue?

Then fear not, summer is definitely upon us, so we'll be having a bbq this saturday 22nd May. Due to the university's insatiable desire to build we will be holding the bbq on the field behind Arthur Vic. To get there just head down to the rootes ponds, turn left (picking up a goose or gosling depending how hungry you are on the way) and carry on untill you cross a bridge, the field is right in front of you. We should be there from around 5. I'll provide bbqs, football and rounders, all you need to bring is lots of meat and booze.

hope revision is going well, see you all there.

Hi all,

Are you

  • Current Student or Staff of the University of Warwick, associate Warwick Sport member or a External Coach
  • Over 21 (or about to turn 21)
  • No serious driving convictions
  • Driving for at least TWO years under a british or european driving licence.

Then you can become a minibus driver for the club! (exciting isn't it)

There is a lecture on thursday this week (13th) which you must attend at 5pm in MS.04 (maths and stats)

PLease do it if you can, the club won't work without people driving busses

More information and how to apply can be found at http://warwicksport.warwick.ac.uk/officer/transport/minibusassessments/

Cheers,

Mofo

Surf Trip 2010

The time has come my friends to once more brave the tempestuous seas of wildest Wales, whilst more than slightly over the legal paddling limit for alcohol content. I talk of course of the summer surf trip!

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of a surf trip before (or were not paying attention last time!) we spend a long weekend at Newgale Beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales. This is a really relaxed trip with sun, sea and surf, interspersed with bbq's and the odd rounders match on the beach. The trip will run from the 25th of June to the 28th of June.

For those intending (read: everyone) on coming along there are several signups. The easiest is a signup for a surf trip T-shirt, which is a club tradition and are always a good laugh. For an idea of how awsome these are capture and old member when they have one on and make them stand facing backwards to you for 20 minutes whilst you have a good read/check out their bum.

The other signups relate to the two minibuses. There will be one early minibus leaving on the morning of the 25th, and a second leaving in the afternoon. ONLY SIGNUP FOR ONE.

Signups are open now....

Lost Property and unclaimed kit

I have just sorted through the kit on the balcony and there is a lot of crap up there. All the personal kit is now in a cardboard box at the front of the top step. It includes (but is not limited to);

Sarah's Coat
A saucepan
2 reed rashies (shotgun if no one claims)
1  Yellow Canoe Hoodie
1 Polo hoodie (AC)
Mofo's shoes
another pair of river shoes
a single river shoe
other kit

I would recommend if you have lost anything take a look through the box. I'll be emptying it in the first pool session of June and taking whatever I want then, binning the rest.

I am also still missing my large orange dry bag - I want it back.
