Posted 4y 2mth ago by Claudia Perry
****Canoe Polo Taster Sessions Week 3****

It's that time of the week again!
Sign ups for Canoe Polo's week 3 taster sessions are now OPEN - no experience necessary!

As outlined in our guide to term 1 document (see other pinned post), to comply with current regulations we are operating a booking system for all of our sessions.
If you want to attend a session you MUST fill in this google form. This is so that we can make sure we have enough experienced members at the session to keep everybody safe. Please do not sign up to the Warwick Sport website until we ask you to. Thanks!:)

Sign up for Canoe Polo Pool Session:
Saturday 24th October 17:30-18:50, Sports Hub Swimming Pool: https://forms.gle/UPQeiVMAFznTQRSv8
Deadline: 5pm Thursday 22/10/2020

Sadly, Ball Throwing is cancelled this week. This is because Westwood Games Hall is being converted into an NHS facility. We're hoping to be relocated so will keep you updated!

Returning members are welcome to sign up to show their interest if we have any spare capacity - but priority will be given to new members.
Looking forward to seeing you there, and as always, get in touch if you have any questions!

Dinnertime Destress! Come Bake With Me!

Posted 4y 2mth ago by Lara Hogan

Sup paddlers,

Tomorrow's dinnertime destress should hopefully provide you with a dessert after too!

We'll be making flapjacks using this recipe (https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/yummy-golden-syrup-flapjacks) which only has 4 ingredients! Feel free to add your own mix-ins - chocolate, fruit, nuts, whatever you like!

Whilst they bake we can do whatever, chat, play a few games, ask me some baking questions, discuss Bake Off - it's up to you!

See you tomorrow! The link to the Teams meeting is here: https://bit.ly/2T6NUr0

Polo Love,

Lara

Join us tonight at 7pm for our first Dinnertime Destress via the teams link below!

As mentioned in my previous post, this will be a super informal wellbeing session. We’ll have a bit of a chit chat on teams before starting this week’s activity – a short beginners meditation session. We’ll be turning cameras off for the meditation so you can follow along in complete privacy – but it’s nice to know that the group are all taking part together.

Everyone is welcome, old members, new members, friends, family, flatmates – the more the merrier!

The only goal is to take some time out of our weeks for some valuable self-care  but it’s also a great time to meet some of our members and spend some (virtual) social time together – something to get you through Monday!

I hope to see you all later for a relaxing destress!

Claudia

Week 2 Social

<>< <>< <>< Week 2 Social ><> ><> ><>

It is now time to make a splash as we head to the Wave next week for our first in-person social! The wave is an indoor waterpark, with lots of things to do. For more information, the link is below.

https://thewavecoventry.com/

Important note that this will be on Friday afternoon next week instead of Thursday. We will confirm the timing closer to the day.

As we will need to sort transport and groups for this social we ask that you sign up on our website on the link below. You will need to create an account on the website before signing up to the trip.

https://warwickcanoe.uk/trips/

Tickets cost £10.50 but if you have a Go CV go card it will only cost £8.00. So I would recommend getting a Go CV card as they are free, with the link on how to get one below.

https://go-cv.co.uk/registering/

If you have any questions or problems, please don't hesitate to contact myself, James or any of the exec.

Social Love,

Dan, James and all the exec

<*><*><*> Dinnertime Destress <*><*><*>

Since the beginning of our virtual term 3 last year, and throughout lockdown, we have been running a weekly virtual yoga session as a club, as a sociable way to de-stress.
This was originally planned to be an actual (in person😱) wellbeing session for our members to take some time for themselves buuuut the ongoing circumstances that we are all aware of mean we are going to take a slightly different approach…

We are launching our new wellbeing Dinnertime Destress sessions every Monday evening at 7pm via teams - run by our very own Canoe Polo exec!
The sessions will be super informal - starting with a chit chat on a teams call but each week we will have a central wellbeing focus. This could be anything from bringing back yoga to a meditation session - but will be a dedicated time for yourself.

We are living in unprecedented times (buzzword), but on a serious note, it can be overwhelming. With online lectures and whatnot, the work-life balance can be increasingly hard to find - so we hope that this will provide a sociable break to rest and reset.

Look out for the post with the teams link on Monday!

As always, sending lots of paddling love,
Claudia and the execs xxxx

New Website!

Posted 4y 2mth ago by Rowan
Today we bid a fond farewell… to the old website

It had a good run from 2005, however, some of the elements were just beginning to show their age, so we set on a major task of a full re-write from the ground up.
After 25 thousand lines of code, 542 commits and 4 months of work, we are finally ready to release the new website for you all to see.
With a fresh new look, mobile optimisation (oh yes) and a promise of being at least 50% less broken than the old website, we hope you’ll really like the new changes.

Unfortunately, accounts are not transferred, so you’ll need to make a new one, but it should be a lot easier this time! However, forum posts have been transferred (so yes, Revision-Away lives on).

Coding Love
Owen, Alwin and Rowan

Also a big thank you to everyone who helped us test and stuff, and no thanks at all to Apple
