Hey all,
I got this email from sheffield hallam:
"I would also like to mention that Hallam have organised an inter uni canoe polo comp. Nothing big or too serious just a few polo matches and training to get us ready for Varsity and BUCS. It will be held at manvers water centre (outdoors) on the 24th Feb from 11 onwards. Ladies, open and B teams are all welcome to enter.  Confirmed so far are hallam, uni of Sheff, notts trent, uni of notts and you are more than welcome if you want to enter teams? We are asking for 2pound a head to cover the cost of manvers."
who's interested? it's the day after a div 4 tournament.
It would be a great opportunity to play outside before BUCS!
As tournament organiser: who wants to go
As lady ;) : can we get a ladies team together?

Hello all
Polo hoodies will be ordered Monday 28th (next Monday). This means you have until Sunday night to POST ON HERE what hoodies you want, what name, what colour and size. If you send me an email I will ignore it because it's easier to keep track of one thread than 20 emails.
The design is the Warwick logo over the left breast, your name over the right and a single colour printed design on the back.
Here are your options:
Normal hoodie: http://www.banana-moon-clothing.co.uk/hoodies/product/college-hoodie/
Varsity Hoodie: http://www.banana-moon-clothing.co.uk/hoodies/product/varsity-hoodie/
Zip up hoodie: http://www.banana-moon-clothing.co.uk/hoodies/product/zoodie/
The prices will be around £20 (less than 20 for normal and varsity, more than 20 for zip up). This price is based on us giving an order of between 10 and 20 hoodies OF THE SAME STYLE so my advice is be a sheep (calm down Katie) and go with the majority. Details about paying will come later.

Fancy being a part of Warwick Canoe history? Warwick Canoe are going to the Lake District for the first time in years. Since Refreshers was cancelled due to poor weather, this is the best oppurtunity to get an introduction into whitewater this year. So get on it! When? The weekend of week 4, i.e. 1st - 3rd February. Leaving Friday evening returning Sunday. Where? Lake District. Idiot, it's in the title. Who? Everyone, from novice to these lasses: http://vimeo.com/57485367 (Note, paddling will be distinctly more tame then in this video) The price will be somewhere in the region of £35-40, depending on numbers. How do I sign up for this magical adventure? Sign up is already open, here: http://www.warwickcanoe.co.uk/site/trips/trip/263/ Remember our motto; trample the weak, hurdle the dead. Skremos

Hi, BUCS Canoe Slalom is fast approaching and is once again being held at the tees barrage white water course up in Teeside. The dates of this are the 15th -17th February which is the weekend at the end of week 6. As this is a BUCS trip this is generously subsidised from the university meaning we only need to pay for part of the accommodation and all the transport is subsidised. The exact cost of the weekend will depend on numbers but should be no more than £15 (getting cheaper the more people we have), plus any food and drink that you need for the weekend. This is open to people of any experience and is good fun from what I have been told about it. A sign up is now live on the website if you want to go and I need to have entries in by the 29th January so please sign up on the website before then.

Evening All,
ITS SO SNOWY
Anyway, next week is the annual WARWICK CANOE PUB GOLF where we all get desgustingly drunk in various establishments around campus and Leamington. It's one of the best socials of the year so don't miss out!
The first hole is the Dirty Duck, on campus, at 7pm on Friday of week 4 (26th). After one drink there we'll move on and most likely end up in kelseys or evolve (if you make it that far).
This years theme is......the Village People!
First years: Cowboys
Second Years: Red Indians
Third years: Builders
4th year/masters: Policeman
Phd: Sailors
Old gits: Biker
No or poor fancy dress will be punished.

Today's canoe session will be running as normal. Sorry for the lack of email, but Warwick Sport doesn't seem to feel like delivering them today.

Not to steal the thunder from our lovely social secs but Real Ale will be in mid Feb. If you want to serve at the festival I would sign up very soon. The Canoe club normally go on the Thur to see THE DR! ...so prob wouldn't serve on that day.
The perks are quite reasonable:
As most of you should know by now, in the middle of February, Warwick Real Ale Society hold our annual beer festival on campus. The festival runs from Thursday the 14th of February to Saturday the 16th (Reading Week/Week 6). This is one of the highlights of the student calendar and is a great experience for all involved. We are currently looking for people to serve behind the bar at the festival for this year, hoping for about 20 on each of the 3 nights. Servers will also be expected to help with either the setup on the Monday or takedown on the Sunday.
We offer quite a few perks to servers, not only do you get a free rugby shirt (given to you on the night you serve), but you also get free entry on all nights of the festival and the opportunity to come on (a subsidised) tour with us the summer. Last yearÔÇÖs tour to Budapest was amazing, just as an indicator. Not only that, but in the more immediate term, on the wednesday before the festival, servers can come along to a free tasting of the beer at the festival. Based on past experience, there will be a LOT of beer going around.
